This page shows how our forecasting model ranks coins. It is not a recommendation to buy, sell or hold anything, and it does not consider your goals, finances or tax situation. Crypto is highly volatile and you can lose your entire investment. Forecasts are algorithmic estimates based on technical analysis and historical data, and they are often wrong.

“What’s the best crypto to buy now?” is one of the most searched questions in crypto, and most answers are sales pitches. This page takes a different route. Instead of opinions, it shows a ranking produced by a single, published rule applied to the same data for every coin. You can see exactly why each coin landed where it did — and why that does not make it a good buy for you.

The watchlist covers ten of the 24 major coins we forecast. For each one we show the model ranges, the technical signal and the main risks, and we link to the full coin forecast so you can dig deeper.

Key takeaways
  • The score is simple: the model's one-year base-case change divided by annualised volatility.
  • Low-volatility coins dominate the top, so this is closer to a risk-adjusted ranking than a list of the biggest potential gainers.
  • Three of the ten coins carried a bearish technical signal when ranked — score and short-term trend can disagree.
  • The ranking is a snapshot from November 2026 data. It will change as prices and volatility change.

How the Ranking Works

Every coin page on this site uses the same forecasting engine. It combines a long-run growth assumption tiered by each asset’s maturity, annualised volatility from the last 365 daily closes, technical position (50- and 200-day averages, RSI and mean reversion) and a Bitcoin four-year cycle overlay. The full method is explained in how crypto price predictions work.

For this page we take two outputs from that engine for each of the 24 major coins:

  1. The one-year base case — the model’s average expected percentage change over the next twelve months.
  2. Annualised volatility — how wildly the coin’s price has swung over the past year.

We then divide the first by the second. A coin with a decent expected change and calm price action scores well. A coin with a similar expected change but violent swings scores lower, because the same “reward” comes with more risk. Investors will recognise this as a cousin of the Sharpe ratio.

What the score does not include

The score ignores news, fundamentals, regulation and short-term momentum. It does not know about ETF flows, upgrades or lawsuits. That is deliberate — a rule anyone can check is more useful than a black box — but it means you must do the qualitative work yourself. The per-coin notes below are where we start that work for you.

An honest caveat about the inputs

Because the model applies similar structural assumptions across assets, the one-year base cases for most major coins land in a fairly narrow band. That means volatility does much of the work in the ranking. Put plainly: this is mostly a list of the least volatile coins that the model still expects to rise, not a list of the coins with the most upside.

Notice the spread of signals: Solana is the only coin in the top ten flagged bullish on technicals, while three carry bearish readings. The score looks a year ahead; the signal reflects the last few weeks. When they disagree, caution is reasonable.

Coin-by-Coin Notes and Risks

Each note covers why the model rates the coin and what could go wrong. For full forecasts, follow the links to the individual pages — this list is a summary, not a substitute.

1. TRON (TRX)

TRON tops the list almost entirely because it is the calmest major coin we track. It is the largest network for USDT transfers, used heavily for payments in emerging markets, and fee burns roughly offset issuance. The model’s one-year average is $0.3739. Risks: heavy influence from founder Justin Sun, reliance on Tether, a small set of block producers and ongoing scrutiny over illicit-finance use. Details on the TRON price prediction page.

2. Bitcoin (BTC)

Bitcoin combines the second-lowest volatility in our coverage with a fixed 21 million supply and the deepest institutional market, including US spot ETFs since January 2024. The model’s 2030 base case is +82.0% versus today. Risks: spot ETF outflows through much of 2026, a hawkish Fed and the chance that the four-year cycle pattern weakens. Read the full Bitcoin price prediction.

3. Dogecoin (DOGE)

Dogecoin’s presence this high surprises people. It is there because it is less volatile than many younger altcoins and has more than a decade of trading history. It also has US ETF products. But it mints about 5 billion new coins a year, has no active development roadmap and moves on celebrity sentiment. Its model one-year average is $0.0944. See the Dogecoin forecast for the wider risk picture.

4. Solana (SOL)

Solana pairs a reasonable volatility profile with one of the higher long-run growth inputs in our model and the only bullish signal in this top ten. It has US spot ETFs (since October 2025) and the Alpenglow consensus upgrade in the pipeline, though without a confirmed mainnet date. Risks: past outages, validator hardware costs that encourage concentration and cyclical memecoin activity. The 2030 base case is $153.81; more on the Solana price prediction page.

5. Hedera (HBAR)

Hedera is governed by a council of large organisations and focuses on enterprise payments and tokenization. A US spot HBAR ETF began trading in October 2025. The model’s one-year average is $0.0894. Risks: the treasury still controls the release of a large share of the fixed 50 billion supply, council governance is criticised as permissioned, and enterprise pilots do not automatically create token demand.

6. Ethereum (ETH)

Ethereum is the leading smart-contract platform, with spot ETFs since July 2024 and large treasury holders. The model’s 2030 base case is $3,922. Risks: layer-2 networks capturing fees (reducing ETH burned), competition from faster chains, staking concentration and upgrade delays — the Glamsterdam upgrade had no fixed mainnet date as of late October 2026. See the Ethereum price prediction.

7. Toncoin (TON)

Toncoin ranks here because the model’s one-year base case is relatively strong for its volatility. But TON carried a bearish technical signal at ranking time, and its fortunes depend heavily on Telegram and Pavel Durov, who faces a French criminal investigation. No US spot ETF was found. Its one-year average is $1.47. Read the Toncoin price prediction.

8. XRP (XRP)

XRP gained regulatory clarity when the SEC case against Ripple ended in August 2025, and US spot XRP ETFs have traded since November 2025. Ripple received final approval for a national trust bank in October 2026. The 2030 base case is $1.89. Risks: Ripple’s escrowed supply overhang, and the fact that Ripple’s products, including its RLUSD stablecoin, do not necessarily require XRP.

9. BNB (BNB)

BNB has low volatility for an altcoin, regular token burns and a US spot ETF since May 2026. Its one-year average is $817.57. The main risks are centralisation — a small validator set — and dependence on the Binance business and its regulatory standing.

10. Shiba Inu (SHIB)

Shiba Inu edges into the top ten on a volatility basis, not because of strong fundamentals. Its supply runs to hundreds of trillions of tokens, burns are symbolic, leadership is anonymous and its Shibarium bridge was exploited in September 2025. Its one-year average is $0.000005726. Treat its ranking with particular scepticism.

Coins That Just Missed — and Why

Among the 24 major coins we cover, Chainlink, Bittensor, Cardano and Stellar scored just below the cut, within a whisker of Shiba Inu. Chainlink, Cardano and Stellar miss mainly because their volatility runs a little higher than the coins above them. Bittensor has one of the stronger one-year base cases in the model, but its price swings are among the widest of any large coin, so the score penalises it. If you are interested in that sector, our page on AI crypto covers it separately.

Near the bottom of the full list sit Pepe, Kaspa, Hyperliquid, Litecoin and Polkadot. The reasons differ. Pepe and Kaspa combine very high volatility with modest base cases. Hyperliquid has only a few months of history in our exchange dataset, which widens the uncertainty. Litecoin and Polkadot have some of the lowest long-run growth inputs in our model, reflecting weaker adoption trends.

None of this means low-ranked coins are bad investments. It means the model’s risk-adjusted case is weaker right now. A coin can rank poorly and still have strong fundamentals the model cannot see — and a top-ranked coin can still fall sharply next month.

How often the ranking changes

Because volatility is measured over a rolling 365-day window and the base case reacts to price and trend, the order shifts as markets move. A sharp rally in a high-volatility coin can lift its base case and push it up the list; a crash can do the opposite. Treat this table as a dated snapshot and check the coin pages for the current numbers.

Market mood matters when you read any ranking. In early November 2026, Bitcoin was roughly 40% below its October 2025 high, the Fear and Greed Index sat in Fear, and the Fed had raised rates in September. Our crypto bull run prediction looks at what would need to change for a broad recovery.

If you use this list as a starting point, a disciplined process helps:

  1. Read the full forecastOpen each coin’s page and look at the minimum values, not just the averages.
  2. Check the fundamentals yourselfThe score ignores news, regulation and adoption. Those can outweigh any model.
  3. Size positions conservativelyMany investors cap crypto at a small share of their portfolio and keep altcoins smaller still.
  4. Spread your entriesBuying in instalments (dollar-cost averaging) reduces the risk of bad timing.
  5. Know your exitUse the crypto profit calculator to decide in advance what gain or loss would make you act.

Why We Publish a Ranking at All

People search for the best crypto to buy now whether or not anyone answers responsibly. We would rather offer a ranking with a visible, repeatable rule — and an honest list of its flaws — than leave readers with hype-driven lists. The ranking’s value is in the questions it raises: why is this coin calm, why does the trend disagree, what does the model miss? Answering those is your job, and no forecast can do it for you.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best crypto to buy now?

No coin is objectively the best buy, and we do not make personal recommendations. Our model ranks coins by expected one-year change relative to volatility. As of November 2026, TRON and Bitcoin scored highest, largely because they are the least volatile majors. Use the ranking as a research starting point, not a buy list.

How is this crypto ranking calculated?

For each of the 24 major coins we cover, we divide the model's one-year base-case percentage change by the coin's annualised volatility over the past 365 days. The result is a simple reward-to-risk score. We list the top ten. The scores are recomputed from fresh data, so the order can change.

Why are Dogecoin and Shiba Inu in a list of best crypto to buy?

Because the score rewards relatively low volatility, and Dogecoin and Shiba Inu are calmer than many mid-cap altcoins in our data. Their inclusion is a model output, not an endorsement. Both are meme coins with no cash flows, heavy holder concentration and sentiment-driven prices, so their risks are high.

Why is a coin with a bearish signal ranked near the top?

The score uses the model's one-year base case and volatility, not the short-term technical signal. TRON, Dogecoin and Toncoin all showed bearish signals at the time of ranking. We display the signal next to each coin so you can see when trend and score disagree, which is common after market selloffs.

Is it a good time to buy crypto?

Nobody can time the market reliably. In early November 2026 Bitcoin was about 40% below its October 2025 high, sentiment sat in Fear, and the Fed had recently raised rates. Some investors see such periods as opportunities, others as warnings. Dollar-cost averaging spreads entry risk if you do buy.

How much should I invest in crypto?

Only an amount you could lose without affecting your finances or plans. Many investors keep crypto to a small share of a diversified portfolio and size riskier altcoins even smaller. We are not licensed advisers, and this page is general information, not personal financial advice.
