Ethereum is the second-largest cryptocurrency and the main settlement layer for smart contracts, stablecoins, DeFi and a growing pile of tokenized real-world assets. That role has not shielded ETH from the 2026 downturn: it trades more than half below its August 2025 all-time high of about $4,946, and sentiment across crypto sits firmly in “fear” territory.
This Ethereum price prediction page gives you model ranges for the next day, week and month, a 12-month path, yearly estimates through 2030, and a long-range view to 2050. Every number comes from an algorithm built on historical prices, volatility and technical indicators, so read it as a map of possibilities, not a forecast you can bank on.
- ETH sits more than 50% under its 2025 peak, a drawdown similar in depth to earlier Ethereum bear phases.
- The model's average path rises gently over the next 12 months, but the yearly ranges are wide because ETH's annual volatility is high.
- Glamsterdam, ETF flows and the Fed's next moves are the near-term swing factors.
- The 2030 low estimate sits below today's price: long-term upside is possible, not guaranteed.
Ethereum Price Prediction Today and Tomorrow
Short-horizon forecasts are the least reliable part of any model, because day-to-day crypto moves are dominated by news, liquidations and order-book noise. Still, the table below is a useful reference point: it shows where the model’s center of gravity sits for tomorrow, seven days, one month, three months and one year, together with RSI, moving averages and a combined technical signal.
Ethereum short-term price prediction
Technical signal: Neutral| Horizon | Low estimate | Model average | High estimate | Change |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Tomorrow | $2,197 | $2,237 | $2,276 | +0.0% |
| Next week | $2,136 | $2,242 | $2,346 | +0.2% |
| In 1 month | $2,047 | $2,260 | $2,485 | +1.1% |
| In 3 months | $1,957 | $2,324 | $2,738 | +3.9% |
| In 1 year | $2,020 | $2,856 | $3,974 | +27.7% |
Indicators are calculated from the last 365 daily closes at the latest data refresh. Short-term crypto moves are close to random; treat these as ranges, not calls.
How to read it. The tomorrow and next-week estimates almost always sit very close to the current price; the model is deliberately humble about short windows. The more interesting rows are 90 days and one year, where mean reversion and the cycle overlay start to matter.
In early November 2026, ETH was trading below its 50-day moving average but still above its 200-day average. That combination usually describes a correction inside a longer range rather than a confirmed new downtrend. RSI was in the high 30s, which is weak but not deeply oversold. If you want a probability view instead of a single path, the AI crypto price predictor runs thousands of simulated paths on the same inputs.
What Is Actually Changing in Ethereum Right Now
Before the longer forecasts, it helps to know what is happening under the hood, because Ethereum’s fundamentals have shifted a lot since the last bull market.
Scaling: Fusaka is live, Glamsterdam is next
The Fusaka upgrade went live on December 3, 2025. Its headline feature, PeerDAS, lets nodes check data availability by sampling small pieces of data instead of downloading everything. Two follow-up “blob parameter” forks on December 9, 2025 and January 7, 2026 raised the room available for rollup data. In plain terms, Layer-2 networks such as Base, Arbitrum and Optimism can post more transactions to Ethereum at lower cost.
Glamsterdam is the next step. It introduces enshrined proposer-builder separation (ePBS), which moves part of block building into the protocol itself, plus block-level access lists that help clients process transactions in parallel. Developers have tested gas limits far above today’s levels. The upgrade activated on the Sepolia testnet on October 6, 2026 and on Hoodi on October 26, 2026. The roadmap targets mainnet in Q4 2026, but the date has slipped several times already and could move into 2027.
Institutions: ETFs and treasury companies
US spot Ethereum ETFs started trading on July 23, 2024, and some funds added staking in late 2025. Cumulative net inflows stood at about $12 billion in early November 2026, although the most recent days showed outflows. Separately, corporate “ETH treasury” firms have bought heavily: the largest, BitMine, reported about 6.02 million ETH (roughly 4.9% of supply) in early October 2026, most of it staked.
Both channels cut both ways. They create steady demand in good times, but they can also become sellers if investors pull money from funds or if treasury companies trade below the value of their holdings. We cover that dynamic in more depth in our analysis of how crypto ETFs move prices.
ETH Price Prediction for the Next 12 Months
The chart shows the past year of ETH prices and the model’s band for the year ahead. The shaded zone is the space between the model’s minimum and maximum; the line through it is the average.
Ethereum price history and 12-month forecast
Log scaleThe model’s next-month average is $2,255, and by the twelfth month the average reaches $2,841. That gentle upward slope comes from two forces. First, mean reversion: ETH tends to drift back toward its 200-day average after sharp moves away from it. Second, the cycle overlay: historically, the year before a Bitcoin halving (the next one is expected around April 2028) has been friendlier for crypto prices than the year after a cycle peak.

Notice how the gap between minimum and maximum widens month by month. That is volatility compounding. With annualized volatility around 60%, a twelve-month band that looks wide is actually a conservative description of how much ETH can move.
Ethereum Price Prediction 2026–2030
The yearly table below gives the model’s minimum, average and maximum for each year to 2030. Percentages compare the yearly average with today’s price.

Ethereum forecast for the rest of 2026
With less than two months left, the 2026 range is narrow: the model averages $2,286. The main events are the December 8–9 FOMC meeting, where markets were pricing a high chance of another rate hike, and any firm mainnet date for Glamsterdam. A hawkish surprise could push ETH toward the low end; a softer Fed or a smooth upgrade could lift it toward the top.
ETH price prediction 2027
The 2027 average is $2,994, with a range from $2,064 to $4,265. 2027 is the run-up year to the next halving, a phase that in past cycles saw a gradual recovery rather than a spike. Ethereum-specific catalysts include Glamsterdam if it slips into the new year, the next fork known as “Hegota” (scope not final), and the GENIUS Act’s stablecoin rules taking effect on January 18, 2027. Most dollar stablecoins live on Ethereum and its Layer-2s, so clearer rules could add activity.
ETH price prediction 2028
The 2028 average climbs to $4,267, reflecting the halving year. In the past, ETH has tended to lag Bitcoin early in a cycle and then catch up with larger percentage moves. The model’s maximum for 2028, $6,926, would mean a new all-time high, which requires both a broad crypto rally and renewed demand for block space.
ETH price prediction 2029
The model’s average peaks in 2029 at $4,668. That matches the timing of earlier cycle tops, which arrived roughly 12 to 18 months after a halving. The 2029 band is also the widest yet, a reminder that cycle tops are where forecasts are least precise.
Ethereum Price Prediction 2030
By 2030 the model expects the post-peak cooling that has followed every previous cycle top, so the 2030 average of $3,922 is lower than 2029’s. Here is what each end of the range would require.
Layer-2s and rival chains capture most activity, fee burn stays low so supply keeps growing, and a post-2029 bear market drags ETH back toward or below today's levels.
Ethereum stays the default chain for stablecoins and tokenized assets, scaling upgrades ship roughly on schedule, and ETH follows a normal cycle with a peak in 2028–2029 and a correction afterward.
Tokenized treasuries, stocks and funds move on-chain at scale, ETFs with staking draw steady inflows, and high mainnet demand turns ETH net deflationary for long stretches.
A useful way to frame the 2030 forecast: the average implies +75.4% versus today, but the minimum shows that a full cycle can end with ETH roughly where it started. That has happened before. ETH spent most of 2018 to 2020 far below its January 2018 high.
Will Ethereum Go Up? Bull and Bear Drivers
▲ Why the price could rise
- Stablecoin and tokenization hub: most dollar stablecoins and tokenized funds settle on Ethereum or its Layer-2s.
- Scaling roadmap: Fusaka is live and Glamsterdam targets far higher throughput.
- Institutional rails: spot ETFs, some with staking, plus treasury companies holding millions of ETH.
- Fee burn: during busy periods EIP-1559 burns more ETH than is issued.
- Cycle timing: the 2027–2028 pre-halving window has historically favored recoveries.
▼ Why the price could fall
- Value leakage to Layer-2s: cheaper rollups mean fewer fees burned on mainnet, so net supply can grow.
- Competition: Solana and newer chains compete for traders, apps and developers.
- Staking concentration: a few large providers and BitMine control a big share of staked ETH.
- Macro: a Fed that is hiking, not cutting, is a headwind for risk assets.
- Upgrade delays: Glamsterdam has already slipped several quarters.
The supply question
ETH has no hard cap. Supply is roughly 122 million coins, and whether it grows or shrinks depends on the balance between staking rewards and burned fees. During the 2021 to 2023 DeFi and NFT boom, the burn often won. Since Layer-2 rollups took over most retail activity, mainnet fees have fallen and supply has crept up again. Bulls argue that more total activity across rollups still feeds Ethereum through data fees; bears reply that the value captured is far smaller than before. This debate is probably the single most important long-term driver for ETH, and it is not settled.
Policy and macro
The Federal Reserve raised rates in September 2026, its first hike since 2023, and markets expect another move in December. Crypto historically struggles when real rates climb, which you can read about in our piece on how Fed interest rates affect Bitcoin and crypto. On the regulatory side, the CLARITY Act, which would split oversight between the SEC and CFTC, stalled in the Senate in September 2026. After the November 3 midterms gave Democrats control of both chambers, its future depends on a new Congress. Our CLARITY Act analysis covers what that means for tokens like ETH.
Long-Term Ethereum Forecast: 2035, 2040 and 2050
The further out you look, the more any model becomes an extrapolation of assumptions. Our long-run growth rate decays over time, so the curve flattens rather than compounding forever. Even so, the ranges are huge.
Ethereum price prediction 2035–2050
Yearly model range| Year | Minimum | Average | Maximum | Avg. ROI |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2035 | $3,604 | $8,000 | $17,095 | +258% |
| 2040 | $5,948 | $14,437 | $33,592 | +546% |
| 2045 | $7,772 | $20,456 | $51,417 | +815% |
| 2050 | $8,851 | $25,105 | $67,759 | +1023% |
End-of-year model estimates. The further out, the wider and less reliable the range. Not financial advice.
For 2035 the model’s average is $8,000; for 2040 it is $14,437; and for 2050, $25,105. These figures assume Ethereum survives and stays relevant, which is a big assumption for any technology over 25 years. They don’t account for a better platform replacing it, a quantum-computing break of today’s cryptography, or a change in how ETH accrues value.
A 2050 estimate is a thought experiment, not a plan. Use it to understand what the model assumes about growth, then stress-test that assumption yourself.

A short tour of the big moves. Ethereum’s 2014 crowd sale priced ETH at around 30 cents, and mainnet launched in July 2015. The 2017 ICO boom pushed ETH to about $1,400 in January 2018, before a brutal bear market took it below $100 by December of that year. The DeFi summer of 2020 and the NFT wave of 2021 carried ETH to roughly $4,870 in November 2021.
Then came the 2022 rate-hike cycle, the collapse of several large crypto lenders and FTX. ETH fell to around $880 in June 2022, even as the Merge in September 2022 moved the network from mining to proof-of-stake. The recovery took almost three years: ETH only set a new all-time high near $4,946 on August 24, 2025. The pattern is clear enough. ETH tends to drop 75% or more in bear markets and to reach new highs in the following cycle, but with long gaps in between.

Signal = 50/200-day moving averages + RSI(14). Averages are model estimates, not targets.
Ethereum usually shows a smaller percentage upside than Solana in our model, because it is bigger and somewhat less volatile. It also tends to fall less in sharp sell-offs. The market treats ETH as the blue chip of smart-contract platforms and price action generally follows Bitcoin’s lead; our Bitcoin price prediction is a useful companion page.
How We Build This Ethereum Forecast
The ETH ranges come from four ingredients: a long-run growth assumption that fades over time; annualized volatility measured on the last 365 daily closes; technical position, meaning 50- and 200-day moving averages, RSI(14) and mean reversion toward the 200-day line; and a Bitcoin halving-cycle overlay scaled for Ethereum. The output is a minimum, average and maximum for each period, and the tables re-anchor to the live price in your browser. Data comes from CoinGecko, Binance, Bitstamp and Alternative.me.
What it does not include: news, on-chain fee data, ETF flows or developer activity. That is a deliberate trade-off for consistency across coins, and it is why we pair the numbers with the fundamentals above. The full approach is explained in our guide to how crypto price predictions work.
Is Ethereum a Good Investment?
ETH has a stronger fundamental story than most tokens: real usage, a deep developer base and growing institutional access. It is also volatile, with no guaranteed value capture, and it has a long record of losing most of its value in bear markets. Those two facts can coexist.
If you decide ETH belongs in a portfolio, a few practical habits help. Size the position so a 70% drawdown would hurt but not derail you. Consider dollar-cost averaging, buying a fixed amount on a schedule, instead of trying to time the bottom. Run the numbers on different entry prices and targets with our crypto profit calculator, and if you are new, start with our step-by-step guide to buying crypto safely. Frequently asked questions
What is the Ethereum price prediction for 2030?
Our model gives a 2030 range rather than a single target, with a minimum, an average and a maximum that update with the live ETH price. The average sits above today's level, but the low end falls below it, which reflects how often Ethereum has lost more than half its value in bear markets. Treat it as an algorithmic estimate, not a promise.
Will Ethereum go up?
Nobody can say for certain. The model's base path drifts higher over the next 12 months, helped by mean reversion toward the 200-day average and the historical tendency of crypto to recover ahead of a Bitcoin halving. Against that, a hawkish Fed, Layer-2s keeping fees off mainnet and ETF outflows can keep ETH under pressure.
Can Ethereum reach $10,000?
It would need roughly double the August 2025 all-time high near $4,946. In our model a figure like that only shows up in the upper part of the long-term ranges, in the 2035 to 2040 window, not in the next couple of years. It would require much larger use of Ethereum for stablecoins, tokenized assets and DeFi.
What is Glamsterdam and why does it matter for ETH?
Glamsterdam is Ethereum's next network upgrade. It brings enshrined proposer-builder separation and block-level access lists and aims at a much higher gas limit. It went live on the Sepolia and Hoodi testnets in October 2026, but no mainnet date has been set. Upgrades improve capacity; they do not guarantee a higher price.
Is Ethereum deflationary?
Sometimes. Ethereum has no maximum supply. New ETH is issued to stakers, while base fees are burned under EIP-1559. When network activity is high, the burn can exceed issuance and supply shrinks; when activity moves to Layer-2 rollups and mainnet fees are low, net supply grows. Recently it has tended toward mild inflation.
How accurate is this ETH forecast?
It is a model, so it will be wrong in the details. It uses historical volatility, moving averages, RSI and a halving-cycle overlay, which captures typical behavior but not surprises such as hacks or regulatory shocks. Read the minimum and maximum as a realistic band and see how crypto price predictions work.
