Hyperliquid runs its own layer-1 blockchain built around one product: a fast, fully on-chain exchange for perpetual futures, contracts that let traders bet on price moves with leverage and no expiry date. The HYPE token launched in November 2024 and has become one of the few altcoins to set a fresh all-time high in this cycle, in September 2026. This Hyperliquid price prediction asks whether that strength can last, with HYPE trading at $77.96.
HYPE’s market history is short, roughly two years, and our exchange data holds only a few months of monthly candles. The price-history table may therefore show a limited-history notice. We cover what the model sees, what it misses and the fundamentals that set HYPE apart.
- Hyperliquid is the largest perpetuals DEX and runs on its own chain with HyperEVM smart contracts.
- Most trading fees fund buybacks of HYPE through the Assistance Fund, tying demand to volume.
- Monthly core-contributor unlocks of about 9.9M HYPE continue until around November 2027.
- US spot HYPE ETFs from 21Shares, Bitwise and Grayscale launched in 2026.
- HYPE is one of the closest large altcoins to its all-time high, but recent weeks have been weak.
What Hyperliquid Is and Why HYPE Has Held Up
Hyperliquid was founded by Jeff Yan, formerly of the trading firm Hudson River Trading, and a small team. It took no venture capital. Instead, it launched HYPE with a large community airdrop, 31% of the 1 billion maximum supply, on 29 November 2024. That decision mattered: there were no early-investor unlocks hanging over the token, a rarity among major launches.
The exchange itself matches orders on-chain using HyperBFT, a proof-of-stake consensus designed for speed. Traders get an experience close to a centralised venue, with transparent positions and settlement. Since 2025 the network has added HyperEVM for general smart contracts, HIP-3 for permissionless perpetual markets created by builders who stake 500,000 HYPE, and HIP-4 outcome or prediction markets, live on mainnet since 2 May 2026.
The buyback engine
The feature most investors focus on is the Assistance Fund. Public reporting puts the share of trading fees routed into it at roughly 97%, and the fund uses those fees to buy HYPE. In effect, the exchange’s revenue becomes constant demand for the token. Few crypto assets have such a direct link between usage and buying pressure.
That link works in both directions. In a quiet market, volumes and fees fall, and buybacks shrink with them. So HYPE is less a “store of value” and more a leveraged bet on on-chain trading activity.
Hyperliquid Price Prediction 2026–2030
The yearly cards show the model’s minimum, average and maximum for each year. HYPE’s long-run growth assumption is among the higher ones on our site, reflecting its revenue model and strong relative performance, but its volatility of nearly 90% keeps every range wide.
HYPE in the Remainder of 2026
The 2026 average, $79.16, stays close to the current price because the year is almost over. Today falls on one of the scheduled monthly unlock dates, and the broader market is in “Fear”. Year-end direction will hinge on whether trading volumes recover after the midterm-related volatility.
HYPE Forecast 2027
The 2027 average of $102.24 implies growth, and the maximum for the year sits well above the September 2026 peak. Two things will shape 2027: the final year of team unlocks and the US regulatory path for on-chain derivatives. The CFTC, which oversees futures markets, is the agency most likely to matter here.
HYPE Forecast 2028 and 2029
The model’s halving overlay assumes a Bitcoin halving around April 2028 and a typical post-halving boom. That pushes the averages to $149.62 and $160.47. For an exchange token, a busy bull market is doubly helpful: prices rise and trading volume, and therefore buybacks, rise too.
Hyperliquid Price Prediction 2030
Regulators restrict access to offshore perpetuals, competitors win market share, and lower volumes shrink buybacks while unlocked tokens weigh on the price.
Hyperliquid stays a leading on-chain derivatives venue, buybacks continue at a moderate pace, and HYPE follows a cooling crypto market after the 2029 peak.
On-chain derivatives take a major share from traditional venues, HIP-3 and HIP-4 markets thrive, and ETF demand adds steady institutional buying.
The model’s 2030 average, $125.76, is lower than its 2029 figure. That is not a negative call on Hyperliquid specifically; it is the cycle overlay assuming a post-peak cool-down, as happened in 2014, 2018 and 2022.

Technically, HYPE is in a mixed position. Price has slipped under its 50-day moving average after a sharp week, yet it remains above the 200-day average, which is the line many traders use to separate long-term uptrends from downtrends. RSI(14) sits near 50, perfectly neutral.
That combination is typical of a correction within a broader uptrend. If the 200-day average holds on a closing basis, the uptrend thesis survives. A sustained break below it would be the first serious technical warning since the token’s strong run in 2026.

HYPE Tokenomics and Supply Schedule
HYPE allocation (1B max supply)
Tokenomics| Allocation | Share | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Genesis airdrop | 31% | Distributed to users on 29 Nov 2024 |
| Future emissions and community rewards | ~38.9% | Released over time |
| Core contributors | 23.8% | Monthly unlocks since Jan 2026, to about Nov 2027 |
| Hyper Foundation | 6% | Ecosystem and operations |
| Other allocations | Small | Community grants and similar |
Approximate figures from public tokenomics reporting.
Only about a quarter of the maximum supply is counted as circulating today. That gap matters. The core-contributor unlocks add roughly 9.9 million HYPE each month, and some releases have reportedly been smaller than scheduled. Meanwhile, the Assistance Fund buys tokens back. Whether net supply grows or shrinks in a given month depends on trading volume, which is why HYPE watchers track both numbers.
Will Hyperliquid Go Up? Drivers and Risks
▲ Why the price could rise
- Fee-funded buybacks directly link exchange revenue to token demand.
- No venture-capital allocation; the largest early tranche went to users.
- US spot ETFs from 21Shares, Bitwise and Grayscale broaden access.
- New products, HIP-3 builder markets and HIP-4 outcome markets, diversify revenue.
▼ Why the price could fall
- Monthly team unlocks run until around November 2027.
- A relatively small validator set raises centralisation concerns.
- Past incidents, including the JELLY manipulation in March 2025 and the 10 October 2025 liquidation cascade.
- Regulatory risk for offshore perpetuals and US user access; strong competition from rivals such as Aster and Lighter.
Competition is real
Perpetual futures are the most profitable product in crypto, so rivals keep coming. On-chain competitors such as Aster and Lighter are chasing the same traders, and centralised venues still hold most derivatives volume. Hyperliquid’s edge has been speed, liquidity and a loyal user base, but market share can shift quickly when incentives change.
ETFs help, but flows cut both ways
Spot ETFs let investors buy HYPE in an ordinary brokerage account, which can widen demand. Our crypto ETF impact analysis shows, though, that ETF flows follow sentiment. Bitcoin funds have seen outflows during this downturn, and smaller altcoin ETFs can see the same.
Regulation is the swing factor
Hyperliquid operates offshore, and perpetual futures are a regulated product in most major jurisdictions. A clear US path through the CFTC could open the door to far more volume; a crackdown on access could do the opposite. The political picture shifted after the 3 November midterms, with Democrats winning both chambers, and the CLARITY Act market-structure bill is still stalled. Our CLARITY Act crypto impact page explains what a delayed or rewritten bill could mean for venues like Hyperliquid.
Macro drives trading volume
Because HYPE’s demand engine runs on fees, the token is unusually sensitive to how much people trade. Volume tends to rise in both sharp rallies and sharp sell-offs, and to dry up in slow, sideways markets. Interest rates matter too: when cash pays well and liquidity is tight, leveraged speculation cools. Our analysis of Fed interest rates and Bitcoin covers how the September 2026 hike and the December meeting fit into that picture.
Peers worth comparing
HYPE behaves partly like a smart-contract platform token and partly like an exchange token. For comparison, see our Solana price prediction for a high-throughput L1, and our BNB price prediction for a token closely tied to a trading ecosystem.
Hyperliquid Price History
Hyperliquid does not yet have a long trading history on major USD-pair markets, so we cannot show a reliable year-by-year price table. Its all-time high per CoinGecko is $97.96 (2026-09-23) and its all-time low is $3.81 (2024-11-29). Short histories make every forecast for this coin less reliable.
HYPE began trading on 29 November 2024 and set its all-time low the same day, shortly after the airdrop. It rallied hard into December 2024 as the airdrop drew attention, then held up better than most altcoins during the early-2025 sell-off. The JELLY incident in March 2025, when a trader manipulated a thin market, briefly dented confidence.
The October 2025 liquidation cascade hit all leveraged venues, Hyperliquid included, yet HYPE recovered through 2026. Spot ETF launches in May and June, alongside HIP-4, coincided with a strong run that ended in a new all-time high on 23 September 2026. The token has since pulled back, but over twelve months it is still well up, unusual in a market where most altcoins are deep in the red.

How to Read a Forecast for a Two-Year-Old Token
Most of our coin pages can lean on several market cycles of data. HYPE has one partial cycle, and it was an unusually good one for the token. That creates a statistical trap: volatility and trend estimates built on a strong period can look healthier than the long-run reality.
We handle that in three ways. The growth assumption decays over time, so early outperformance does not compound forever. The halving-cycle overlay forces the model to include a cooling phase after the next peak, which is why 2030 looks softer than 2029. And the minimum values stay well below today’s price in several years, a reminder that HYPE has not yet been through a full crypto winter as a mature asset.
When you use the tables, focus on the shape rather than the exact figures. The model’s message is roughly this: a moderately rising base case, very wide bands, and a cyclical pattern that rewards patience but punishes buying near euphoric peaks. Exact numbers will move every time the live price does, which is why we display them through live components rather than writing them into the text.
Long-Term HYPE Price Prediction: 2035, 2040 and 2050
Hyperliquid price prediction 2035–2050
Yearly model range| Year | Minimum | Average | Maximum | Avg. ROI |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2035 | $78.54 | $253.63 | $774.52 | +225% |
| 2040 | $123.37 | $454.24 | $1,572 | +483% |
| 2045 | $150.09 | $622.58 | $2,413 | +699% |
| 2050 | $158.04 | $731.70 | $3,149 | +839% |
End-of-year model estimates. The further out, the wider and less reliable the range. Not financial advice.
The long-range table assumes the growth rate fades over time. The 2035 average equals $253.63, or +225.3% versus today. These numbers depend on Hyperliquid still being a dominant venue more than a decade from now, which nobody can know. Exchange businesses have risen and fallen quickly in crypto’s short history.
How We Calculated This Hyperliquid Forecast
The forecast is an algorithmic estimate based on technical analysis and historical data. It combines a decaying long-run growth assumption, annualised volatility from daily closes, moving-average and RSI positioning, and a Bitcoin halving-cycle overlay. It does not model buybacks, unlocks or ETF flows explicitly. You can explore the method in how crypto price predictions work or run 2,000 simulated paths in the AI crypto price predictor.
Is HYPE a Good Investment?
Among large altcoins, HYPE has one of the clearest stories: a real business that buys its own token. That has been rewarded in 2026. The risks are equally clear: unlocks, regulation, competition and the fact that buybacks shrink when markets go quiet.
If you are considering HYPE, a measured approach helps:
- Size for drawdowns. Even strong tokens can fall 30% or more in weeks.
- Mind the calendar. The monthly unlock dates are public; some traders avoid buying just before them.
- Model your outcomes. Our crypto profit calculator shows what different entry and exit prices mean.
- Compare. Our best crypto to buy list and price predictions hub put HYPE alongside its peers.
One more consideration: HYPE can be staked to secure the network, and the Grayscale ETF includes staking. Staking can offset some dilution from unlocks for holders who lock their tokens, but it adds its own risks, including lock-up periods and the possibility of validator issues. Read the official documentation before staking, and do not treat staking rewards as guaranteed income.
This is not financial advice; do your own research before investing.
Frequently asked questions
What is the Hyperliquid price prediction for 2030?
Our model's 2030 bear, base and bull values for HYPE are displayed in the scenario cards on this page and adjust to the live price. The base case sits below the 2029 average because the model expects the crypto cycle to cool after a post-halving peak. HYPE's short history makes every long-range figure highly uncertain.
How do Hyperliquid buybacks work?
The large majority of trading fees on Hyperliquid, roughly 97% according to public reporting, flows to the Assistance Fund, which uses it to buy HYPE on the open market. That links token demand directly to exchange activity. When trading volume falls, so does the buyback pressure, so it is a cyclical support rather than a floor.
When do HYPE token unlocks happen?
Core-contributor tokens unlock in monthly tranches of roughly 9.9 million HYPE, around the 6th of each month, since January 2026. The schedule is expected to run to about November 2027. Some releases have reportedly been smaller than scheduled, but traders still watch each date for potential selling.
Is there a Hyperliquid ETF?
Yes. US spot HYPE ETFs launched in 2026: 21Shares THYP on 12 May, Bitwise BHYP on 14 May and a Grayscale staking ETF, HYPG, in June. They give traditional brokerage accounts access to HYPE, though flows can run in both directions and do not guarantee higher prices.
Can HYPE reach a new all-time high?
HYPE set its all-time high in September 2026, so it is much closer to that level than most altcoins are to theirs. Our model's 2027 maximum and later averages sit above the previous peak, but a new high would likely require sustained trading volume, continued buybacks and a supportive crypto market.
What are the main risks of investing in Hyperliquid?
Key risks include a relatively small validator set, past market incidents such as the JELLY manipulation in March 2025 and the October 2025 liquidation cascade, regulatory pressure on offshore derivatives, ongoing team unlocks and strong competition from other perpetual exchanges. HYPE is volatile and this is not financial advice.
