Bitcoin is the asset every crypto cycle starts and ends with. It launched in January 2009 with a hard cap of 21 million coins, and since then it has survived several 70–85% crashes, exchange collapses and repeated obituaries. It still trades well below its October 2025 all-time high, and that drawdown is exactly why a sober Bitcoin price prediction matters more now than at the top.

This page gives you our algorithmic BTC forecast for tomorrow, next week and the next 12 months, year-by-year ranges to 2030, and long-range scenarios to 2050. Every number comes from a transparent model built on technical analysis and historical data. Use it to frame expectations, not as a promise.

Key takeaways
  • Bitcoin trades at $76,008 in our latest snapshot, roughly 40% below its October 2025 peak.
  • The model’s 12-month base case sits near $95,381, with a wide range on both sides.
  • For 2030 the model averages $138,301; 2029 is the strongest year in the cycle overlay.
  • The biggest swing factors: Fed policy, ETF flows, the April 2028 halving and US crypto legislation.

Bitcoin Price Prediction Today, Tomorrow and Next Week

Short horizons are the hardest to forecast. Over a single day, Bitcoin’s moves are dominated by order flow, liquidations and headlines, so our short-term table is mostly a volatility envelope with a small technical tilt. The signal at the top of the table comes from three inputs: where price sits against its 50-day and 200-day moving averages, and the 14-day RSI.

Indicators are calculated from the last 365 daily closes at the latest data refresh. Short-term crypto moves are close to random; treat these as ranges, not calls.

How to read it: the average column is where the model’s central estimate lands if nothing unusual happens. The low and high columns show a realistic band for normal market noise. When RSI sits in the 30s, as it did in early November 2026, Bitcoin is close to oversold territory. Historically that has more often preceded relief bounces than deep extra legs down, but it is a tendency, not a rule. In the 2022 bear market RSI stayed weak for weeks.

If you are trading the next few days rather than investing, watch three things: the US dollar and Treasury yields around Federal Reserve meetings, funding rates on perpetual futures (very negative funding often marks capitulation), and daily flows into spot Bitcoin ETFs. Our Fed interest rates and Bitcoin analysis explains why rate expectations move BTC so fast.

BTC Price Prediction for the Next 12 Months

The 12-month view is where the model has more to say. It blends the long-run trend with mean reversion toward the 200-day average and the position in the halving cycle. The chart shows the last year of real daily prices in blue, then the model’s range. The shaded area turns green above today’s price and red below it, so you can see at a glance how much of the range sits in profit territory.

End-of-month estimates from our algorithmic model (trend, volatility, 200-day mean reversion, halving-cycle overlay). Ranges, not targets. NFA.

The path is gradual by design. The model doesn’t predict a V-shaped rebound or a crash. It shows the average of many possible paths, which smooths out the zig-zags real prices make. In practice Bitcoin rarely moves in a straight line: a 20% swing inside any given quarter is normal even when the yearly direction ends up matching the forecast.

What could change the 12-month picture

  • Monetary policy. The Fed cut three times in late 2025, held in the first half of 2026, then hiked to 3.75–4.00% in September 2026 as inflation re-accelerated. Markets were pricing a meaningful chance of another hike at the December 8–9 meeting. A pivot back to cuts would be a strong tailwind; more hikes would extend the slump.
  • ETF demand. US spot Bitcoin ETFs have attracted roughly $56 billion in cumulative net inflows since January 2024. Sustained inflows soaked up supply in 2024–2025; outflow streaks have accompanied most of the 2026 drawdowns. See our crypto ETF impact analysis.
  • Washington. After the November 2026 midterms, Democrats control both chambers of Congress, and the stalled CLARITY Act market-structure bill will likely need to be reintroduced. Our midterm elections crypto impact page covers the scenarios.

Bitcoin forecast for the rest of 2026

With only weeks left in the year, the 2026 range is narrow and centred close to today’s price. The year has already been a classic post-peak year: Bitcoin hit its 2026 low around $57,700 at the turn of June and July, rebounded, and slipped again in October and November. For the year to close strongly, the market would need a dovish surprise from the Fed or a return of steady ETF inflows.

Bitcoin price prediction 2027

2027 is the “rebuild” year in the four-year rhythm. In past cycles, the year before a halving saw prices recover a large part of the bear-market losses: 2015 into 2016, 2019 into 2020, and 2023 into 2024. The model’s 2027 average sits above today’s level, mostly because the mean-reversion pull toward the 200-day average fades and the long-run trend reasserts itself.

Bitcoin price prediction 2028

The next halving is expected around April 2028, cutting new supply to 1.5625 BTC per block (about 225 BTC per day). Halvings matter less each cycle in pure supply terms, because new issuance is already small compared with ETF and treasury-company flows. But they remain a powerful narrative and timing anchor for the market, and the model gives 2028 a positive cycle offset.

Bitcoin price prediction 2029

Historically the peak came 12–18 months after the halving: late 2013, December 2017, November 2021 and October 2025. That makes 2029 the strongest year in our cycle overlay, which is why the 2029 average is the highest in the five-year table. The upper edge of the 2029 range reflects a cycle top scenario; it is not the base case.

Bitcoin Price Prediction 2030

2030 would sit roughly two years after the 2028 halving, the phase where past cycles moved into a bear market (2014, 2018, 2022, 2026). The model therefore pulls its 2030 average below 2029, even though the long-run trend keeps rising. Here are the three scenarios.

Bear case · 2030
$83,072 +9%

A post-2029 bust similar to 2022: liquidity tightens, leverage unwinds and ETF outflows dominate for a year. Bitcoin still holds far above its old cycle lows.

Base case · 2030
$138,301 +82%

Bitcoin keeps growing slowly as a macro asset held by ETFs, funds and corporate treasuries, while the cycle overlay cools the price after a 2029 peak.

Bull case · 2030
$224,727 +196%

Adoption accelerates: clear US market-structure law, larger allocations from pensions and sovereign funds, and a weaker dollar push BTC toward the top of the band.

Is the bull case realistic? It requires Bitcoin’s market cap to grow severalfold from here, roughly toward gold-scale valuations in the most aggressive scenarios. That is not impossible, since Bitcoin has done more in past cycles, but each cycle’s percentage gain has been smaller than the last: roughly 100x into 2013, 20x into 2017, 20x into 2021 and around 8x from the 2022 low into 2025. Our Bitcoin 4-year cycle analysis breaks down every cycle with the data.

Long-Term Bitcoin Forecast: 2035, 2040 and 2050

Long-range forecasts are where honesty matters most. Over 10–25 years, the range of outcomes runs from Bitcoin becoming a core reserve asset to Bitcoin being displaced by technology or regulation. The model handles this by letting its growth rate decay over time and widening the range, but the numbers below are scenarios, not forecasts you should plan your retirement around.

A useful sanity check is market capitalisation. With about 20.1 million coins in circulation today and fewer than 900,000 still to be mined, almost all future price growth must come from demand, not supply. Compare any long-term number with the size of gold, global equities or the money supply, and ask what share of that Bitcoin would need to capture. For a portfolio-level view, see our total crypto market cap prediction.

Why Could Bitcoin Go Up, and What Could Push It Down?

▲ Why the price could rise

  • Fixed 21M supply and the April 2028 halving, which cuts new issuance to about 225 BTC per day.
  • Spot ETFs give pensions, advisers and brokerages a regulated way in; cumulative inflows are in the tens of billions.
  • A return to Fed rate cuts or a weaker US dollar has historically lifted risk assets, Bitcoin included.
  • Clearer US rules (market-structure law, stablecoin regulation under the GENIUS Act) lower barriers for institutions.
  • Corporate and sovereign interest: the US Strategic Bitcoin Reserve holds forfeited BTC, and other governments are watching.

▼ Why the price could fall

  • Tighter monetary policy: the September 2026 hike and sticky inflation keep pressure on speculative assets.
  • ETF outflow streaks can turn the same pipes that drove the rally into a source of selling.
  • Leverage: forced liquidations, like the record wipe-out of 10–11 October 2025, can drive cascading drops.
  • Policy risk: the CLARITY Act stalled in the Senate, and a new Congress may take a different approach.
  • Diminishing cycle returns and competition for capital from AI stocks and tokenized assets.

Two of these deserve more context. First, liquidity is the biggest single macro driver of Bitcoin. When central banks ease and the dollar weakens, Bitcoin has tended to outperform almost everything; when real yields rise, it has struggled. Second, market structure has changed. In earlier cycles retail traders on offshore exchanges set prices. Today ETFs, CME futures and treasury companies are big participants, which may dampen extremes in both directions. That is one reason we expect smaller cycle multiples than in the past.

A short history of the cycles:

  1. 2013–2015: Bitcoin climbed above $1,100 in late 2013, then lost more than 80% after the Mt. Gox collapse.
  2. 2017–2018: The ICO boom pushed BTC to about $19,700 in December 2017; it fell to around $3,200 a year later.
  3. 2020–2022: Pandemic stimulus and corporate buying took Bitcoin to roughly $69,000 in November 2021. The Terra/Luna and FTX collapses dragged it to about $15,500 in November 2022.
  4. 2024–2025: Spot ETF approval in January 2024 and the April 2024 halving fuelled a run to about $126,000 on 6 October 2025.
  5. 2026: A post-peak correction, with a low near $57,700 around mid-year.

How We Build This Bitcoin Forecast

Our BTC forecast is not a pundit’s target. It is produced by the same transparent model we use for every coin on the site:

  • Trend: a long-run growth assumption for Bitcoin that slowly decays over time, reflecting a maturing asset.
  • Volatility: annualised volatility measured from the last 365 daily closes sets the width of every range.
  • Technical position: the 50-day and 200-day moving averages and RSI(14) add a short-term tilt and a mean-reversion pull.
  • Cycle overlay: Bitcoin’s four-year halving rhythm, anchored to the expected April 2028 halving.

You can see every formula in plain English on our methodology page. If you want to stress-test your own scenario, the AI crypto price predictor runs 2,000 simulated price paths for any horizon, and the Bitcoin rainbow chart shows where today’s price sits against a long-term regression.

Building a long-term Bitcoin position?

Many investors buy small amounts on a schedule instead of trying to time the bottom. Recurring buys are available on licensed exchanges.

Is Bitcoin a Good Investment Right Now?

We can’t answer that for you, and anyone who claims to know is guessing. What the data shows is this: Bitcoin has rewarded patient holders over every four-year window in its history so far, but it has also delivered drawdowns of 75–85% that wiped out late buyers who used leverage or had to sell.

A few principles hold up regardless of the forecast:

  • Size the position for the worst case. If a 60% drop would force you to sell, the position is too big.
  • Consider dollar-cost averaging. Buying a fixed amount every month removes the pressure to time the bottom. Our crypto profit calculator can backtest DCA against a lump sum on real data.
  • Avoid leverage. Most crypto blow-ups start with borrowed money.
  • Use a licensed exchange and secure your coins. Our how to buy crypto safely guide walks through it step by step.

Frequently asked questions

What is the Bitcoin price prediction for 2030?

Our model's 2030 range is shown in the scenario cards on this page, with a bear, base and bull case. It combines a long-run growth assumption, Bitcoin's measured volatility and the four-year halving cycle, which historically put a correction year two years after each halving. 2030 falls in that phase, so the model is deliberately more cautious for 2030 than for 2029.

Will Bitcoin go up tomorrow?

Nobody can reliably call a single day. Our short-term table gives a low, average and high estimate for tomorrow based on recent volatility and technical position, and the range is usually only a few percent wide. Day-to-day moves are driven by news, liquidations and macro data that no model sees in advance.

Can Bitcoin reach $1 million?

It is possible, but not in our base case for this decade. A $1 million price implies a market cap around $20 trillion, larger than gold's. In our long-term table the upper (bull) edge only approaches that level in the 2040s, and the base case stays well below it. Treat any specific date for $1M as speculation.

Why did Bitcoin fall after reaching an all-time high in October 2025?

Bitcoin peaked near $126,000 on 6 October 2025. Days later a wave of leveraged positions was liquidated, and through 2026 the market faced a Federal Reserve that stopped cutting and then hiked in September 2026, ETF outflows in risk-off weeks and policy uncertainty. Our bear market and why-crypto-is-down pages explain these drivers in detail.

When is the next Bitcoin halving?

The next halving is expected around April 2028 at block 1,050,000, when the block reward drops from 3.125 to 1.5625 BTC. The exact date depends on how fast blocks are mined. Historically the strongest gains came 12 to 18 months after a halving, but each cycle has produced smaller percentage gains than the one before.

Is it too late to invest in Bitcoin?

That depends on your goals and risk tolerance, not on a headline price. Bitcoin is still volatile: it has fallen 75% or more in past bear markets and could do so again. Many long-term investors use dollar-cost averaging and keep Bitcoin to a small share of their portfolio. This is not financial advice.

How accurate are Bitcoin price predictions?

Point predictions are usually wrong, which is why we publish ranges. Our ranges are built to show realistic uncertainty, not to sound confident. Even so, shocks such as exchange failures, regulation or macro crises can push the price outside any model's band. Read our methodology page to see exactly how the numbers are produced.
