Pi Network began in 2019 as a smartphone app that let people “mine” coins by tapping a button once a day. Six years later, PI became tradable when the Open Network launched in February 2025. This Pi coin price prediction asks a simple question: what can a model reasonably say about a coin with such a short market history, trading at $0.0752 and well over 90% below its early peak?

The honest answer is “less than for most coins”. We have no exchange monthly history for PI in our data set, so the price-history table will show a limited-history notice. The forecast runs on daily prices since listing, and we lay out the supply and unlock risks that a technical model cannot see.

Read this first

PI combines a short price history, a bearish technical trend, ongoing token unlocks and centrally controlled supply data. Model output for this coin carries more uncertainty than for established assets. Nothing here is financial advice, and the figures are algorithmic estimates, not promises.

Key takeaways
  • The Open Network launched on 20 February 2025; PI hit its all-time high within days and set a new low in July 2026.
  • Only a little over a tenth of the 100 billion max supply is counted as circulating by market trackers.
  • Monthly unlocks of migrated user balances add supply throughout the year.
  • Our model’s next-month average is $0.0755, and its 2027 average is $0.0981.
  • The technical signal is bearish: price trades under both the 50-day and 200-day moving averages.

Pi Network Supply and Unlocks: the Factor That Matters Most

For most coins we would start with charts. For PI, supply comes first, because it shapes everything else.

Pi Network has a maximum supply of 100 billion coins. Roughly 80% is allocated to the community, mostly balances accumulated by “Pioneers” through mobile mining and referral rewards. The remaining 20% belongs to the Core Team. Many users who migrated their balances to mainnet chose lockup periods, and those lockups expire on a rolling schedule. The result is a steady stream of newly liquid coins.

Feb 2026~16M Pioneers migrated to mainnetMore users able to move and sell balances
Jul 2026~104M PI unlockedCoincided with a new all-time low

Figures are approximate and drawn from public reporting; Pi Network supply data is less transparent than for many projects.

Why opaque supply is a pricing problem

When investors cannot easily verify how many coins exist, who holds them and when they unlock, they demand a discount. Different trackers publish different circulating figures for PI, and the Core Team’s share sits in wallets whose usage is not fully transparent. That uncertainty is one reason PI trades with a persistent overhang even on good news days.

The migration bottleneck

Users must pass identity verification, known as KYC, and migrate balances before they can move PI on mainnet. Each wave of successful migrations increases the number of holders who can sell. That is healthy for decentralisation, but in the short term it tends to add selling pressure, especially from people who see their mined coins as a windfall.

Indicators are calculated from the last 365 daily closes at the latest data refresh. Short-term crypto moves are close to random; treat these as ranges, not calls.

The short-term table is close to flat, which is normal: one-day and one-week model moves are small compared with daily noise. The more useful information is in the indicators. RSI(14) sits in the mid-30s, weak but not deeply oversold. Price is below the 50-day average, and the 50-day average is well below the 200-day line. In plain terms, the trend has been down for months.

A bounce would first need PI to reclaim its 50-day average and hold it. Without that, rallies have tended to fade. For a market-wide view of sentiment, check our crypto bear market page, which explains why weaker coins usually suffer most in risk-off periods.

The chart blends recent trading with the model’s one-year band. The average path edges up from $0.0755 next month to $0.0947 twelve months out. That upward drift comes mainly from mean reversion toward the higher 200-day average, not from any expectation of news.

End-of-month estimates from our algorithmic model (trend, volatility, 200-day mean reversion, halving-cycle overlay). Ranges, not targets. NFA.

Keep two things in mind when reading the heat map. The model assumes no unusual supply shocks, yet PI has unlocks every month. And because PI has traded for less than two years, its volatility estimate is based on a period dominated by a single long decline. Both points argue for treating the upper end of each month’s range sceptically.

Pi Coin in 2026

With weeks left in the year, the 2026 average of $0.0772 is pinned near the current price. The main question for year-end is whether PI can stop setting lower lows. Broader crypto direction, including the Fed’s December meeting, will matter more than any Pi-specific headline.

Pi Coin in 2027

The 2027 average, $0.0981, assumes partial recovery. For that to happen in reality, Pi would need to show genuine use of its payment and app ecosystem. Protocol v23, rolled out in May 2026, added smart-contract support, and the team has launched products such as a Pi DEX. Real transaction volume from those tools would be the clearest sign of progress.

Pi Coin in 2028 and 2029

Our model overlays the Bitcoin halving cycle, expected to bring a halving around April 2028. That lifts the 2028 and 2029 averages to $0.1222 and $0.1210. We apply a smaller growth assumption to PI than to most large coins, so the cycle effect is muted. Our Bitcoin 4-year cycle guide explains why this pattern shows up across crypto.

Pi Coin Price Prediction 2030

Bear case · 2030
$0.0366 -51%

Unlocks continue to outpace demand, few merchants or apps adopt PI, and limited exchange access keeps liquidity thin.

Base case · 2030
$0.0968 +29%

Pi builds a modest app and payment economy among its users, supply growth slows, and PI tracks the broader altcoin market.

Bull case · 2030
$0.2439 +224%

Pi turns its large user base into real daily activity, supply data becomes transparent, and wider listings bring in new buyers.

All three scenarios are notably restrained compared with many altcoins on this site. That is deliberate. A coin with a growing supply, a bearish trend and a short history should not be modelled with aggressive growth. If you see Pi forecasts elsewhere that assume dollar-plus prices, ask what supply figure they used.

End-of-year model estimates. The further out, the wider and less reliable the range. Not financial advice.

The long-range averages rise only gently, to $0.1366 in 2040, about +81.6% against today. The model’s growth assumption for PI is low, and that is a judgement about the evidence available, not a verdict on the project. Decades-long forecasts for any coin are speculative; for one with Pi’s history they are closer to placeholders.

What Could Lift PI — and What Could Sink It?

▲ Reasons for optimism

  • A very large registered user base, with roughly 16 million Pioneers migrated to mainnet by February 2026.
  • Smart-contract support since protocol v23 opens the door to apps and tokens.
  • A consumer-payments vision that could create real, non-speculative demand.
  • Built on a fork of the Stellar Consensus Protocol, a proven design.

▼ Reasons for caution

  • Monthly unlocks keep adding liquid supply.
  • The Core Team holds and controls a very large share of total supply.
  • Opaque supply data makes valuation difficult.
  • A relatively centralised node set and limited top-tier exchange listings.

Users are not the same as demand

Pi’s headline strength is its community, millions of app users, with about 16 million migrated to mainnet. But most people joined to collect free coins, not to buy them. For the price to rise sustainably, some of those users have to spend PI on goods and services, or new buyers have to arrive from outside. So far, evidence of either at scale is limited.

Technology lineage

Pi’s consensus is derived from Stellar’s, which uses a federated agreement model rather than mining or staking. If you want to compare a mature network built on that design, our Stellar price prediction covers XLM. Another mobile- and messaging-oriented project, Toncoin, is analysed on our Toncoin price prediction page.

Policy and market backdrop

PI does not live in a vacuum. The wider crypto market has been in a drawdown since Bitcoin’s October 2025 peak, the Fed raised rates in September 2026, and US market-structure legislation stalled in the Senate. Coins with smaller, retail-heavy holder bases tend to feel those pressures first. Our explainer on why crypto is down covers the main drivers.

Pi Coin Compared With Other Community-Driven Coins

It is tempting to lump PI together with meme coins, since both are driven by large retail communities. The comparison is only partly fair. Meme coins usually launch with a fixed, fully tradable supply and make no utility claims. Pi, by contrast, has a long-term supply schedule, an identity-verified user base and an explicit plan to become a payments network.

That difference cuts both ways for the price. On the plus side, Pi has a clearer route to non-speculative demand if its app economy works. On the minus side, meme coins rarely face the monthly unlock pressure that PI does. If you are weighing PI against pure community tokens, our meme coin predictions page applies the same model to that group, so you can compare like with like.

There is also a behavioural angle. Many Pioneers accumulated balances over years at no financial cost. Their “break-even” price is effectively zero, which makes them more willing to sell at almost any level than investors who paid for their coins. Until that cohort’s selling slows, rallies are likely to meet supply.

What would genuinely change the outlook

Three developments would make us more constructive on PI. First, transparent, independently verifiable supply data, including Core Team wallet activity. Second, measurable on-chain commerce: payments to merchants and apps that people use for reasons other than earning more PI. Third, broader access through reputable, licensed venues, which would deepen liquidity and reduce the influence of a few trading platforms. None of these is guaranteed, and none has a firm public timeline as of November 2026.

Pi Coin Price History

Limited history

Pi Network does not yet have a long trading history on major USD-pair markets, so we cannot show a reliable year-by-year price table. Its all-time high per CoinGecko is $2.99 (2025-02-26) and its all-time low is $0.0706 (2026-07-14). Short histories make every forecast for this coin less reliable.

The table above shows a limited-history notice because our exchange data set has no monthly candles for PI. The key facts are simple. Trading opened with the Open Network on 20 February 2025, and PI reached its all-time high on 26 February 2025, just under $3, during a burst of launch enthusiasm.

The rest of the story has been a long slide. PI lost about two-thirds of its value over the past twelve months alone and printed its all-time low on 14 July 2026, around the time of a sizeable unlock. Since then it has traded in a narrow, low range without a convincing recovery.

How We Built This Pi Forecast

Every coin on this site runs through the same model: a long-run growth assumption that decays over time, annualised volatility from up to 365 daily closes, technical position from 50- and 200-day moving averages and RSI, and a Bitcoin halving-cycle overlay scaled to each coin. For PI we use a lower growth assumption and a smaller cycle sensitivity, reflecting its short history and supply overhang. Learn more in how crypto price predictions work, or run a Monte Carlo simulation with the AI crypto price predictor.

Is Pi Coin a Good Investment?

Pi has an unusual profile. Many holders did not buy at all; they mined. If that is you, your question is less “should I invest” and more “how much risk do I want to keep”. If you are thinking of buying, the questions are tougher: why now, and what would make supply pressure ease?

A few principles that apply either way, and none of them are financial advice:

  • Only use official channels. Pi has attracted many phishing sites and fake wallets. Never share your passphrase.
  • Keep it small. A coin with PI’s risk profile belongs in the speculative slice of a portfolio, if at all.
  • Plan exits as well as entries. Our crypto profit calculator helps you see what different sell prices mean in practice.
  • Compare. The price predictions hub puts PI alongside other coins on the same model.

Frequently asked questions

What is the Pi coin price prediction for 2030?

The 2030 bear, base and bull values for PI are shown in the scenario cards on this page and update with the live price. Our model's base case is cautious because PI has a short history, a bearish technical signal and a large supply still to be unlocked. Treat it as an algorithmic estimate, not a target.

Why did the Pi coin price fall so much after launch?

PI peaked within a week of the Open Network launch on 20 February 2025, when demand from new listings met a limited tradable float. Since then, monthly unlocks of migrated user balances, limited top-tier exchange access and a weak crypto market have pushed the price far below that peak, with a new all-time low in July 2026.

How many Pi coins will exist?

Pi Network's maximum supply is 100 billion PI. About 80% is earmarked for the community through mining and rewards, and about 20% for the Core Team. Market trackers currently count a little over 11 billion PI as circulating, so most of the theoretical supply is not yet liquid. Supply data is less transparent than for many other projects.

Can Pi coin reach $1 again?

PI traded above $1 briefly in early 2025. Getting back there would require many times today's value while supply keeps increasing. None of our model's averages through 2050 come close, and even the bull-case maximums stay well below $1. We consider it unlikely without a major, unforeseen change in demand.

Is Pi Network a scam?

Pi Network is a real blockchain with a working mainnet, an open network since February 2025 and millions of KYC-verified users. Critics point to centralised control, opaque supply data and the Core Team's large allocation. Those are legitimate risks to weigh, but they are different from the project not existing. Always verify claims independently.

Should I sell my mined Pi coins?

We cannot tell you whether to sell, because it depends on your finances and goals. Some miners treat PI as a free bonus and sell a portion to lock in value; others hold for utility. Whatever you choose, use only official wallets, beware of phishing and impersonation, and never share your passphrase.
